Teeth Whitening: ZOOM

ZOOM PROFESSIONAL WHITENING

Teeth whitening is a simple, non-invasive cosmetic treatment used to lighten natural tooth enamel and enhance your smile. It’s the most common aesthetic dental concern today.

Common reasons for whitening:

  • Stains from food, drink, or smoking

  • Fluorosis (excess fluoride during development)

  • Age-related enamel wear

  • Discoloration from medications (e.g., tetracycline)

Procedure:

Whitening typically involves two dental visits. Zoom whitening is a professional, in-office teeth whitening treatment that uses a special light-activated gel to dramatically whiten teeth in about an hour. Custom trays are made from impressions taken at the first visit. At the second, you’ll receive the trays and instructions for applying a whitening solution—worn either twice daily or overnight for a few weeks.

Whitening affects only natural enamel, so any old fillings or crowns may need replacement after bleaching to match the new tooth color.

Key points:

  • Not permanent—touch-ups may be needed every few years

  • More frequent touch-ups may be necessary for smokers or those who consume coffee, tea, or wine

  • Temporary tooth sensitivity is common but subsides after treatment ends

Good oral care and regular dental visits help maintain your results.
