Meet Dr. Howard Katz
Background and Credentials
A BDS graduate from the University of The Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1979, Dr. Katz regraduated as a DDS in California in 1986.
He holds Diplomas in Orthodontics from the American Academy of Orthodontics (since 1988), a Diploma in CoreVent Implant Placement since 1991, as well as one from California Implant Institute in 2021.
He is the president of the International Academy of Dento-facial Esthetics, and sits on the Faculty at Nova South Eastern University School of Dental Medicine.
He is the founder and inventor of the SafeGide Implant Placement Systems, co-founder of Novalar Pharmaceuticals, and co-inventor of Oraverse Anesthetic reversal agent.
He is also the founder / lead instructor of Dentox Dentofacial Education, and is also named on the Botox patents for all dentofacial indications using Botulinum neuromodulators.

Dr. Howard Katz has a passion for dentistry that was instilled at a young age. He enjoys keeping up on the latest studies and technology in his fields. He truly enjoys the challenge presented that each individual brings to the table – as we are all unique.
In His Free Time
In his limited amount of free time, Dr. Howard Katz loves spending time with his family, remodeling homes, traveling, volunteering to share his dental knowledge with the less privileged in San Diego, and staying in shape!
He has volunteered at the St Vincent de Paull dental clinic, St James- St Leo Dental Clinic, as well as dental clinics for refugees in Ofakim and Jerusalem (in Israel).
